Trans-Baikal Railways to invest 51 million rubles in improving safety at level crossings

Trans-Baikal Railways announced implementing a set of measures aimed at improving safety at level crossings. In 2014,  51 million rubles will be allocated to improve 5 level crossings in Amur region (Zavitaya, Arga – Seryshevo, Bureya – Domikan near railway station) and 3 in Trans-Baikal region. As part of the measures, in Zavitaya – Poyarkovo area automated level-crossing will be installed, as well 22 sets of rubber panels in 10 level crossings will be laid.

As part of track renewal projects, repairs of 5 level crossings crossings in the Baikal and Amur regions are also scheduled.

In addition,  due to additional funding,  Trans-Baikal Railways will install  photo and video surveillance equipment on 11 level crossings.
