TransContainer and Latvian Railways (LDz) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of rail freight transport. The cooperation also provides for the exchange of relevant information in the field of logistics, the development of additional traffic volumes and joint market research in the field of rail freight.
“The diversification of the transported goods and the development of new target markets are among the most important strategic objectives of Latvian Railways. The successful cooperation with Chinese Railways and TransContainer in the implementation of rail freight transport services and the pilot container train from China indicate that the achievement of these strategic objectives is absolutely real. The Memorandum signed today with TransContainer company will be the basis for further cooperation, and I am convinced that in the near future the result will be a regular container train traffic between China and Latvia”, said Edvīns Bērziņš, president of Latvian Railway.
