Transmashholding to build 300 tramways for Moscow

vityaz_2Transmashholding subsidiary Metrovagonmash will supply 300 three-section tramways to Moscow tram operator Mosgortrans. In accordance with the requirements set in the RFT, deliveries will take place between 2017 – 2019 (100 trams per year). The total value of the order is RUB 56 billion (EUR 771 million) and includes 30 years of maintenance services. The project will be carried out in cooperation with PC Transport systems and Tver Carriage Works. 

“Transmashholding will propose to Moscow Government an original design for the trams, which will transform them into a new tourist attraction. This is of particularly importance considering the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup and the expected influx of foreign tourists, ” said Kirill Lipa, General Director of Transmashholding. 

The low-floor tramways will be equipped with modern diagnostic systems, air-conditioning system, WiFi internet connections and information screens.
