Turkey’s urban rail network reaches 492 km in length

Turkey’s metro and light rail networks currently reaches 492 km and will be extended with another 133 km, stated the Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Lutfi, during the inauguration of the Aksaray-Yenikapı metro line. 

Over the last ten years, Istanbul has built 141 km of metro lines and by 2019 the  network will reach 430 km.

In Istanbul, over EUR 6 bn have been invested recently in developing transport infrastructure. By 2019,  Istanbul’s railway network will register over 400 km in length.
