Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) signed memoranda of understanding for cooperation with Siemens and Pesa Bydgoszcz (Poland), on the 20th of September at InnoTrans (Berlin). Ukrzaliznytsia aims to expand the range of its international partners in the field of railway infrastructure modernization, railway equipment and rolling stock, in order to make possible the introduction of European standards and high quality services to customers and passengers.
The memorandum signed with Siemens represents the basis for further cooperation, including the possibility of contracting rolling stock and equipment projects, equipment and systems for railway infrastructure, provision of maintenance services, and the establishment of joint ventures.
Ukrzaliznytsia and Polish Rolling stock manufacturer Pesa Bydgoszcz also signed a MoU on cooperation in the areas of production and modernization of rolling stock, including locomotives, EMUs and DMUs, and passenger coaches. Currently, Ukrzaliznytsia operates 11 rail buses and two-car diesel trains manufactured by Pesa Bydgoszcz.
