United Wagon Company (UWC) established the Centre for Transportation Technology – Design Office, for experimental design projects, technological and scientific research in the field of rail freight transport.
The Engineering Center plans to develop and put into production more than 60 projects of new cost-effective wagons, chassis and components. The Vehicle Technology Center (VTC) combines leading industry experts, gathers more than 100 designers and engineers with experience in the largest wagon factories in CIS. VTC has 12 departments whose activities cover the entire life cycle of rolling stock.
The main activities focus on design engineering for freight cars, chassis and components, operational support and use of new materials and structural solutions.
Vehicle Technology Center partners are leading companies of the national railway industry, including JSC “VNIIZhT”, Railcar-Building Engineering Centre, NVC Vagony, OJSC Altaivagon, Novokuznetsk Railcar-Building Enterprise , CJSC Mogilev Carriage Works, as well as other international technology leaders in the field of car building.
General Director of UWC, Roman Savushkin said: “To maintain a competitive edge, we are constantly working on updating product lines.
