US: National Transportation Safety Board Targets Rail Safety

Positive train control, improved mass rail transit safety and eliminating driver distration were among the ten top transportation safety improvements the National Transportation Safety Board wants to see advance in 2014, according to the .

The NTSB released its “Most Wanted List“ of transportation improvements for 2014 today, for the first time including improving operational safety in rail mass transit among its advocacy priorities.  “The traveling public relies on a safe and efficient transportation system, yet, every year, we see over 35,000 fatalities,” said NTSB Chairman Deborah A.P. Hersman.
