Vilnius Locomotive Repair Depot (VLRD), a subsidiary of Lithuanian Railways, has presented TGM4 No. 2662 shunting locomotive, rebuilt and modernised for AB „Dolomitas”.
The four axle TGM4 shunting locomotive was equipped with Caterpilar C27 ACERT IIIB engine and AKG cooling system. The locomotive’s frame, auxiliary electrical equipment, air compressor and pneumatic systems were modernised. The service life of the vehicle was extended by 10 years and fuel consumption decreased by 30 percent.
Latvian Railways is the main customer of VLRD, informs its Managing Director Valentas Stadalnykas. The company exports rolling stock to Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Azerbaijan and the other foreign countries. The modernized shunting locomotive is VLRD’s first product for a private company on the Lithuanian market.
