This Invitation for Tenders follows the General Procurement Notice for this project which was published on the EBRD website, Procurement Notices (www.ebrd.com) on 07 February 2014.
The Karen Demirchyan Yerevan Metro Company hereinafter referred to as “the Purchaser”, intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the “EBRD” or the “Bank”), a loan from European Investment Bank (“EIB”) and a grant from the EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility (“NIF”) towards the cost of Yerevan Metro Rehabilitation Project (Phase II).
The Purchaser now invites sealed tenders from Suppliers for the following contract to be funded from part of the proceeds of the loan:
– Design, Supply and Installation of a Training Simulator for Metro Drivers
The Client intends to implement a simulation-based system for education, regular further training and refresher courses for its operating personnel. Simulations shall be based on the 81-71M series modernized carriages and the actual Yerevan Metro network. The route shall be simulated, so that driving situations, which depend on signal control actions of existing operations, can be modeled and practiced.
The simulator shall consist of actual cabin installed on rocking platforms with a computer system generating images inside the cabin.
The simulator data base shall enable accurate simulation and display of driving, considering plan and grading of track, auto-locking system operation and automatic speed regulation (ALS-ARS).
The scope of work includes 3D dimensional model and not 3D visualization by means of special glasses, video capture of all sections of the metro tunnels and open sections required for driver training; audio capture for realistic simulation of sound; video rendering of the of recorded material; creation of an up-to-date traffic line map; development of software to simulate normal operation; development of training programmes for normal operation and incident/abnormal conditions; development of Instructor module and Instructor control of drivers’ training; software for evaluation of exercises; procurement of simulator hardware; supply and installation of complete system at the Client’s premises; training of the Client’s personnel, etc.
