Macedonian Railways (MZ) -Transport strengthens its freight capacities with 150 new cars, provided by Slovakian company “ZOS Trnava”.MZ Transport director Oliver Derkoski and ZOS Trnava CEO Vladimir Poor signed Wednesday the agreement in the attendance of Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski. MZ Transport will get 75 open wagons and the same amount of flat wagons worth EUR 13,2 million.
Minister Jankieski said 2014 would be a year of investments in the railway sector.“Besides today’s agreement, six new passenger trains are being procured”, he added. According to MZ Transport director Derkoski, Macedonian Railways would have a completely new car pool by spring 2015. ZOS Trnava CEO Poor voiced guarantees over the cars’ quality and hope for future cooperation.
The first shipment of ten cars should arrive 40 weeks following the agreement’s signing, whereas the delivery of all 150 freight cars is to be completed in a year.
